DAoC Portal Contest: Win Timecards and a chance to Name an NPC in DAoC! [Relic Task Update!]
With the launch of the new DAoC portal here at postcount.net, we are pleased to announce an awesome contest in conjunction with BiowareMythic giving you the chance to immortalise yourself in the game! The winner of the contest will be able to name an NPC in DAoC! It could be a guard, random NPC, or even an ugly troll that shoots fireThe winner will also receive a 1 month time card, with runners up also receiving a 1 month time card.
There are updates to the task list on Sept 14th, please read them.
What do you have to do to be in with a chance to win this awesome prize?!
We've made a list of 15 things to do in the game and you must complete each one, posting a screenshot in this thread for each item to prove you completed it. Please read the rules below as they are important!
Prizes:
- 1st Place: 1 month time card and the opportunity to name an NPC in DAoC!
- 2nd Pace: 1 month time card
- 3rd Place: 1 month time card
Should there be more than 10 entries, then 4th and 5th place will also receive a 1 month time card!
Rules:
- A screenshot is required to prove you completed each item on the below list.
- All screenshot entries must be submitted via LINKS in a SINGLE POST on this thread OR they will be disqualified (multiple posts are NOT allowed). Do NOT embed the images on the forum using image tags. If you do not have anywhere to host your links, please PM me.
- Your clock must be on, and showing a date/time after this contest was posted. Your character name must also be visible either by being turned on, or in your health/end/conc/mana panel.
- All tasks must be completed on the same character, in the one realm. No cross realm shots.
- One character/entry per person.
- You do not have to be solo doing these tasks. Once the screenshot is taken by yourself completing the task, that's enough.
- Any screenshots showing inappropriate behavior or language will be disqualified. Screenshots must not contain anything that breaks DAoC's or the boards ToS.
- Your first entry will be the only one accepted. You may edit your entry, but only within a few minutes from the original time of submitting. Any showing edits over an hour after the original submissions will be disqualified. Before hitting the POST button, make sure you double check (and triple check) that all 15 of your screenshot links work and meet the requirements.
- Staff will not comment or offer advice on how to complete these tasks, or on your entry. I ,and only I (beibhinn), will give hints and help if needed (something is too hard to find, etc).
- Do not troll this thread.
How winners will be selected:
This contest will run for 3 weeks until September 24th at noon EST (this gives you 3 weekends to get everything done!). Entries will then be entered into a random 100 draw that will take place ingame between myself and another member of staff for verification. If you submitted your entry in the first week, you will get an automatic +15 to your entries roll. If you submitted on the 2nd week, +10 to your roll. And on the 3rd week, +5 to your roll. The highest roll, including week bonus, will win the overall prize. Should a tie arise for the highest roll, whoever submitted their entry first will receive first place.
The To Do List:
Remember, you must submit a screenshot showing each of these tasks completed, at the time you do them.
- Take (and claim) one of the surrounding towers of Beno, Crauch or Bled (depending on your realm)
- Kill your realm's NF Dragon
- Kill a RR12 of an opposing realm (solo, in a group...where you get RPs for the RR12's death)
- Take a screenshot of yourself with an enemy relic (this doesn't mean in your bag, here's my wiz with a mid relic: http://tkfu.com/beibhinn/sshot113.jpg - that type of ss counts)
[UPDATE: Relics are something beyond player control without a massive BG, so this is proving an issue. If you have access to take a screenshot with an enemy relic, awesome, but if not you have the alternative option instead of KILLING LEGION (not just reaching, but killing). You can select Legion instead of relic for this task.]- Reach the Sidi/Tuscaren Glacier/Galladoria boss (Apocalypse, Queen Kula, Olcasgean)
- Kill one of the Summoner's Hall boss mobs (Summoner, Summoner Cunovinda, Summoner Lossren or Summoner Roesia)
- Take a screenshot of yourself with a non-combat pet (bunny, puppy, etc)
- Bring Megalodon into your realm waters and fight him (with /map up). [UPDATE: For mids, get him closer to mid than alb/hib with /map up and that'll suffice]
- Obtain Larimon's Minotaur relic in the Labyrinthand screenshot yourself in Minotaur form.
- Take a screenshot yourself with 1 of the following NPCS, depending on realm:
Alb - female proc specialist in camp forest
Hib - tiny friendly named leprechaun in Lough Gur
Mid - the lone elf lost in vanern swamp- Kill Draco (ml10)
- Buy something direct from the market explorers worth more than 500g (excluding market commission)
- Get 2 out of 3 matches in a game of Trifecta
- Take a keep with a 2 or more groups
- Have a 1v1 RvR fight (don't have to win!)
